MIXING SCIENCE WITH HUMOUR: A VIDEO SERIES CAMPAIGN13/10/2017
Our latest Creative Mission for HP presented us with a clear challenge: to strike a delicate balance between serious science and light-hearted humour.
The brief was to create a new video series for the established Print With Thom YouTube channel, which sees HP engineer Thom Brown explain the scientific benefits of using Original HP Ink. To generate maximum engagement, the new series had to relay complex information about HP’s ink chemistry in a way that was comprehensible, concise and above all, entertaining.
Our creative development brought us to six concepts that transmitted the technical information in a fun, visual way, ranging from a 2D-animated ink carton race to a stormy “Weather Challenge.”
Finally, we tailored the videos for HP’s different social media channels, producing 1-minute videos for YouTube and short teaser clips for Instagram. The result was a total of 12 videos that together formed a fresh and engaging series specifically designed for cross-platform communication.
